PARSIPPANY, NJ – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchise company with more than 8,900 hotels in more than 95 countries, released its 2022 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report highlighting its commitment to operating in a socially responsible way, ethically and ecologically responsible. These commitments are underscored by recent accolades, including recognition by DiversityInc, which highlighted Wyndham as a company with leading diversity practices for 2022, and Forbes as one of the 2022 Best Diversity Employers.

Advancing its commitment to diversity, Wyndham unveiled its innovation “Women own the room” program, the first-ever program from a major hotel company specifically targeting the advancement of women in hotel ownership. Women Own the Room is designed to advance and empower female entrepreneurs to break into the male-dominated hospitality industry and is a natural extension of the brand’s commitment to DEI. The program is attracting great interest and has proudly awarded new hotel development contracts to female developers for projects in Colorado, Delaware, Texas, Virginia, Oklahoma and Florida.

Wyndham is committed to protecting the environment and demonstrating leadership in environmental programs, policies and performance. Accelerating these efforts, the company announced that hotels worldwide will be required to achieve Level 1 of the Wyndham Green Program by April 2023 as part of compliance with their brand standards. The Wyndham Green Program is a five-tier certification that helps reduce a hotel’s environmental footprint, includes a proprietary environmental management tool that tracks data to help hotels improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, conserve water and reduce waste while helping to improve homeowner bottom line. Wyndham’s work has been recognized through his participation in CDP’s responses to climate change and water security, where he reached the management band for sustainability performance and disclosure.
