A Hagerstown woman is being held without bail after being charged with firing a handgun at another woman on Saturday at the Baymont Inn, 431 Dual Highway.
Ashley Silverman, 36, of Noland Drive was charged with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment and having a handgun on her person in the incident, which was called around 11:30 a.m. according to the indictment document.
The alleged victim told Hagerstown Police that she and her husband were in a room when a woman knocked on their door and asked for someone named “Butch,” the document said. The woman returned later, asking Butch again.

As police spoke with the victim, a woman matching the description she had given walked down the hall, according to the document. The woman was identified as Silverman, but she did not have a handgun with her.
An investigator reviewed hallway security video showing a silver handgun in Silverman’s hand, the document said. The video showed Silverman and two other women walking to the victim’s door and having a brief conversation before walking away.
Silverman dropped his cell phone as the three women walked away and, as one of the women picked up the phone, according to the document, Silverman could be seen with a gun in his hand before placing it in his pocket. his hoodie.
