Coastal Hospitality Associates, LLC (“Coastal Hospitality”) today announced the purchase of the 98-room Baymont by Wyndham Kitty Hawk in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The transaction was finalized on Wednesday January 5.

Coastal Hospitality, a Virginia Beach, Virginia-based hotel management and development company, will also take over the day-to-day management of the hotel, with immediate plans for a light refresh in rooms over the next few months, in time for the busy tourist season of spring and summer.

From 4e quarter of 2022, the hotel will temporarily close to undergo a multi-million dollar renovation and conversion to the Holiday Inn Express. Holiday Inn Express, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is one of the world’s largest and most recognizable brands with over 3,000 properties worldwide.

Reopening in early 2023, the Holiday Inn Express Kitty Hawk will offer a free hot breakfast, outdoor pool, exercise room, free laundry, and free golf cart transportation to and from the beach for customers who prefer not to walk.

“We are delighted with this new addition to our hotel portfolio and look forward to repositioning this hotel under the Holiday Inn Express brand. The Outer Banks market has grown tremendously over the past decade and has proven to be particularly robust despite the current challenges of COVID-19, ”said Chris Brown, President of Coastal Hospitality.

Coastal Hospitality also owns and operates the 100-room Holiday Inn Express Nags Head Oceanfront, located just 10 miles south of Nags Head, North Carolina. Originally the Nags Head Inn, the hotel was purchased by Coastal in late 2015 and has undergone a similar conversion to the Holiday Inn Express brand.
