Special Ballots Available for Voters in Upcoming Election – Red Deer Advocate
Special ballots, also known as postal ballots, are still open to eligible voters in upcoming municipal elections.
Red Deer voters can still request a special ballot to participate in the October 18 election.
The city will continue to accept nominations until 4:30 p.m. on election day. Special ballots will be mailed to electors or made available for pick up and must be returned to the returning office no later than 8:00 p.m. on election day.
Special ballots are only available to those who cannot vote at an advance poll or at the polling station on polling day for one of the following reasons:
• Due to health problems;
• If the elector will be absent from the local jurisdiction (example: far from Red Deer or the district of the Catholic Separate School of Red Deer in which you reside); Where
• Whether the voter is an election official.
Eligible voters will find the special ballot form on the website, elections.reddeer.ca, or can request one from the returning officer by emailing [email protected] or calling 403-342-8132 .
Voters are encouraged to vote early to reduce congestion and wait times on polling day. Three advance polls are open until October 16 at Parkland Mall, Baymont by Wyndham Red Deer and Westerner Park.
Voters can also choose to attend one of the eight polling stations on polling day. All polling stations are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
