J’s BBQ and Grill is coming to downtown Parkersburg | News, Sports, Jobs

PARKERSBURG — The former Third Street Deli site in downtown Parkersburg will soon be home to J’s BBQ and Grill of Marietta.

The restaurant first opened last August inside the Baymont by Wyndham in Marietta and the owners plan to reopen at the new location at 430 Third Street on April 18.

“We are really excited about this. We look forward to being able to use the space. There is an outdoor space that we don’t have here,” Josh Argabrite, co-owner, said.

The new location will come with new menu items, outdoor events and a strong focus on dining. Employees will also offer delivery within a 5-7 mile radius.

“We would like to put it back where it was when it was Third Street. They always had a really good lunch,” said Argabrite. “We have increased the different burgers and sandwiches we offer.”

J’s will offer a variety of soups and bread bowls at the new location, but Argabrite said he also wants to attract a diner crowd.

“We will try to add a decent dinner menu,” he said.

For example, brisket will be a permanent menu item, and Argabrite said it could be used for multiple entrees or appetizers.

Because Third Street Deli does a lot of catering, Argabrite said that will be a focus in the coming months.

“Here we have been so busy with the restaurant that we have not been able to concentrate as much as we would have liked”, he said.

Although the business is moving to Parkersburg, Argabrite said the owners are still committed to the community of Marietta.

“We have a big audience and a lot of support. We have received nothing but positive feedback from the people of Marietta, we always want to maintain a footprint in Marietta,” he said. “We haven’t been able to find anything here yet. As soon as we can find something for Marietta we will be back here, it would be a second location.”

In the meantime, Argabrite said they have started looking for a catering trailer to serve to further branch out to Belpre and Marietta.

J’s BBQ will continue in its Marietta location during regular business hours, 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and closed Sunday.
