HIGHLAND PARK, ILLINOIS, USA, July 16, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Mindful Care, an emergency mental health care provider in Illinois, offers free support groups to those affected by the recent devastating shootings in Highland Park on July 4, 2022. Groups will be held virtually every Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. CT for the next 6 weeks and will be led by the Mindful Care Illinois team under licensed therapists.

Support groups will focus on allowing participants to talk and grieve, while teaching tools to deal with heavy emotions they may be feeling. Mindful Care believes it is imperative to take action to improve mental health in times of extreme crisis or devastating loss. All 18 years and over are invited to participate by registering on https://mindful.care/blog/mindful-care-stands-with-highland-park.

The entire Mindful Care family is deeply saddened that many of our peers, friends, colleagues and patients are enduring unimaginable pain during this difficult time. Many Mindful Care employees and patients reside in or have a close connection to the Highland Park community.

“Mental health inevitably becomes a topic after these tragedies, and we are too often reminded of the profound mental health issues and traumas we face as a country and a community. While we no longer need reminders, events like these confirm Mindful Care’s commitment to improving access to mental health care and providing more support to our communities,” said Dr. Tamir Aldad, CEO and Founder of Mindful Care.

“We want to be there to support our community. While we don’t have the perfect answer for everyone, we want to offer our services to the Highland Park community and its peers by lending a helping hand,” said Jacquelyn Glide, Clinical Director of Therapeutic Services at LCSW.

Anyone looking for support is encouraged to register without obligation. Mindful Care staff are also available to help find individual treatment for those interested in future support.
