Chicago shooting: 3 separate incidents with injuries, hours apart on South Side, police department says

CHICAGO (WLS) — Three people were injured in shootings hours apart Saturday morning in South Chicago, police said.

Three men were inside a vehicle in the 8500 block of the South Commercial Avenue neighborhood when a dark-colored SUV pulled up near them, Chicago police said. An unidentified assailant fired in their direction around 5:54 a.m.

The victims self-transported to Advocate Trinity Hospital, police said. A 25-year-old man was shot in the lip and right arm and was in serious condition. The second victim, a 24-year-old man, suffered an abrasion on the left side of his face and was in stable condition. The third victim, a 36-year-old man, suffered a laceration in his right hand and was in good condition.

No one was in custody and area two detectives are investigating.

Hours earlier, a 23-year-old man was in a car in the 1900 block of East 80th Street when he was grazed on the head, police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition, officials said.

No one was in custody in either incident.
