Chicago arrives at Bord Gais with world-famous singer in iconic role

Chicago’s musical favorite is scheduled to come to Bord Gais Energy Theater next spring, Tuesday April 5 through Saturday April 16, 2022.

The show will feature Russel Watson in the iconic role of Billy Flynn, promising a dazzling dazzling that the show is known and loved around the world.

Russell joins Coronation Street star Faye Brookes as Roxie Hart and Djalenga Scott as Velma Kelly.

Chicago follows the story of Roxie Hart, the housewife and nightclub dancer who sideways murders her lover after he threatens to leave her. Roxie ends up in a women’s prison in 1920s Chicago and manages to fool the public and garner support for her release.

Roxie hires Chicago’s most skilled criminal lawyer, Billy Flynn, to help him with his case and beat rival inmate Velma Kelly.

Chicago will feature all of the favorite tracks from its stint in Dublin, including Razzle Dazzle, Cell Block Tango and All That Jazz.

Since its premiere on Broadway, Chicago has won six Tony Awards and is now the longest-running American musical in Broadway and West End history.

Russell Watson is recognized as one of the world’s greatest classical singers, having released ten critically acclaimed studio albums. He has collaborated with Meatloaf, Lionel Richie, Paul McCartney, Alexandra Burke and Luciano Pavarotti, and recently appeared on ITV’s 20th series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

The cast also includes Ishmail Aaron, Michelle Andrews, Gabby Antrobus, Delycia Belgrave, Joel Benjamin, Tanisha-Mae Brown, Daniel Clift, Callum Fitzgerald, Emily Goodenough, Billie Hardy, Aaron Jenkins, Liam Marcellino, Theo Reece, Hollie Jane Stephens and Harrison Wilde.
