...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM CDT/4 AM EDT/
MONDAY...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of Illinois and northwest Indiana, including the
following areas, in Illinois, Central Cook, DuPage, Eastern Will,
Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, Kankakee, Kendall, La Salle, Livingston,
Northern Cook, Northern Will, Southern Cook and Southern Will. In
northwest Indiana, Benton, Jasper, Lake IN, Newton and Porter.

* Until 3 AM CDT/4 AM EDT/ Monday.

* Waves of rain, heavy at times, with embedded thunderstorms will
continue through early overnight before tapering. Observed
rainfall totals from Sunday morning through 9 PM Sunday evening
have been between 1.5 and 3.5 inches across much of the area along
and south of I-80. Total rainfall amounts of 2 to 4.5 inches are
expected across the Watch area, with isolated higher totals
possible.

* Ponding and minor flooding on some roads and low-lying locations
is expected, with potential for rapid-onset flooding in some
locations. Expect culverts and ditches to fill and likely overflow
in places.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means rapid-onset flooding is possible, but not
yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Flash flooding is a
dangerous situation. Persons with interests along area rivers,
creeks, and other waterways should monitor the latest forecasts and
be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
