2 suspects arrested in connection with fatal gang-related shooting at Fayetteville Hotel

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) – Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place Saturday night at the Baymont Ramada hotel in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville police say the shooting outside the Baymont Ramada hotel over the weekend stemmed from a fight between rival motorcycle gang organizations: Hells Angels, Red Devils, Infamous Ryders and La Familia.

The fight resulted in six gunshot wounds, including three deaths.

Fayetteville Police Department gang detectives determined that an incident at a nearby gas station earlier in the day was linked to the shooting later that evening. Officers have charged and arrested two people Dalton Emmanuel Laperriere, 26, and Kerry Helms Lawing, 49, with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily harm and criminal conspiracy in connection with the aggravated assault at the station- service.

The investigation into both incidents is still ongoing and is a collaborative effort between local and federal agencies. Detectives use many investigative tools to aid in their investigation, including over 150 surveillance systems located throughout the city of Fayetteville.
